 ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଭାରତୀୟ ଦାର୍ଶନିକ ମାନଙ୍କ ମତରେ ସମସ୍ତ ବସ୍ତୁ ପାଞ୍ଚ ଗୋଟି ମୌଳିକକୁ ନେଇ ଗଠିତ। ଏହାକୁ ପଞ୍ଚତତ୍ତ୍ବ କୁହାଯାଏ।
